Came in here late in the evening. We grab a couple of stools at the bar. Had some beers and some call drinks. Tried their Cajun Fried Chicken with Jambalaya and Coleslaw. Nice tasty and like the spices.It is a good place to hangout.

Huge lines during the day, but we went at 7 am on a Monday and were almost the only ones there. It was actually quite relaxing that way and we walked along Victoria Square in the early morning light with few tourists. I highly recommend! The beignets of course were great, and warm!

The best dinner by far. Never heard of barbecue butter but they use it n I love it ,. The wait staff is great. For best experience, sit outside with a sunset view

Very attentive service and the food was delicious. The bar area is really neat. Even if you don&rsquo;t eat here, it would be a good place to stop for a drink.

This seemed like one of the more serious Jazz Clubs. We were at a wonderful show by Charmaine Neville. She&#39;s a regular so check her out. It is a small but comfortable space with good sound. We loved it.

The Daiquiri was AWESOME. Simple elegance that was done perfectly. Not too sweet. Not too big. No ice. Delicious. We then had a Maitai which was also great.

We found this place through some YouTube videos and local recommendations, however I honestly cannot understand why anyone would recommend this place.  The food was mediocre compared to the price point. The seafood gumbo was good but super spicy, so not for everyone. The friend chicken was alright but the fried shrimp and crawfish not particularly tasty. Drinks are served in plastic cups; never been to a restaurant or pub that does that.  The true stars of the show however are the staff; obnoxious, rude and very unprofessional all around. The female waitress was snappy even before we got into the place, asking us to stand by a particular pole outside on the sidewalk.. no problem. The place was busy so you comply. After this we were all asked to show our IDs and in we went. The place is dark, dirty, and very loud. 3/4 of the noise coming from a male staff whose job is apparently to walk around and loudly ‘joke’ around with people. While eating, a pen flew out of the staff’s hand right into the middle of our food, and later some drink was spilt on one of us. No apologies; but we said nothing both time.  By the end we were so tired of the place that we left a lower tip than we normally do, and the female waitress started shouting at us, to embarrass us, in front of everyone else as we left. Had I known she’s so sour about her existence, I would have left nothing at all. Some servers in the US need to get a grip of reality; people tip because they feel you did an awesome job, and want to show their appreciation and not because you’re entitled to it (and if not throw a tantrum). It may have been cute when you were 3, but when you’re working in hospitality, it’s just disgusting.  She asked us not to go back there in the end (because apparently paying for your food and leaving a smaller tip than she wanted is ‘insulting’) to which we assured her we never will.

Went twice this week, well nearly twice… First time we thought, ok it’s a dive but the food is ok.   We ate so much better than this during our week in New Orleans and took part in cook schools / food tours etc to really appreciate the cooking, so I think we are reviewing this from a good place with a good heart and wanting the city to be amazing.    Night one: service poor but food ok. Yo mama does a better job of all the dishes we tried, but hey they knew how to get a plate out quickly and that’s what counts when you’re really hungry.   Night two: after a full day touring Louisiana, visiting plantations and swaps.  We were really hungry.  See the link?  Night two didn’t happen. A young boy at the door thought it was kinda cool to ID me (57) and my wife (54).  The wee guy was so rude it was incredible and wow I’ve not heard expletives like he said for a long time.  We left and went round the corner for a fabulous Italian.   Then it all crystallised: this place reeks of entitlement, mediocrity and averages, but some people think it’s sort of dive-chic.  It’s not.  It’s an old fashioned stinker with nasty little people on the door.  Avoid.  New Orleans, even tourist New Orleans, offers 100 times better.

What a place! Is it in an area with some Questionable street zombies? Yes, is it old and small? Yes, the waitstaff yells at you if you don’t wait outside at the sign!  Yes, it’s crowded! No, it isn’t a place to go if you need to be pampered! The food was authentic and good. I enjoyed the crabmeat stuffed Jalapeños and the rabbit/ sausage gumbo.  The waitress was good And she fit the place! They do not split checks So don’t ask!
